Best Plausible alternatives in 2026: 8 options, with prices

What are good alternatives to Plausible Analytics?

The best Plausible alternatives in 2026 are Fathom (simplest, many sites per plan), Umami (open source, free to self-host), Pirsch and Simple Analytics (EU, cheaper or free), Matomo (Google Analytics depth), Cloudflare Web Analytics (free, basic), PostHog (product analytics) and PageLens Analytics (funnels, revenue and AI traffic from $5). Which one fits depends on why you're leaving: price, a missing feature, or self-hosting.

Disclosure: we make PageLens Analytics, which is on this list. Plausible is a good product, and for many sites the right answer is to stay. Prices are from each vendor's pricing page (Plausible on 23 October 2026, the others on 15 October 2026) and they change, so check before you switch.

Why people look for an alternative

Plausible's Starter plan is $9 a month for 10,000 pageviews and one site. A few things only come with higher plans: team members and shared links from Growth ($14), and funnels, user journeys, custom properties, revenue attribution and the Stats API only on Business ($19). There is no session replay, and like every script-based tool it can't see AI crawlers, which don't run JavaScript. The usual reasons to switch are one of those, or wanting more sites for the same money.

If you're leaving because of price or number of sites

Pirsch starts at $6 a month with 50 sites, hosted in Germany. Fathom costs more ($15) but includes 100,000 pageviews and 50 sites, which suits agencies and people with many small sites. PageLens Analytics starts at $5 for 20,000 events and 3 sites.

If you want it free

Umami is open source and runs on a small server, and its cloud free tier covers a side project. Simple Analytics has a free plan with 30 days of history. Cloudflare Web Analytics is free if your site is on Cloudflare, but it only shows traffic, with no goals or events.

If you need features Plausible keeps on Business or doesn't have

PostHog is the pick for product analytics: events, session replay, feature flags and experiments, with a big free tier (it uses cookies unless you switch on its cookieless mode). Matomo is closest to Google Analytics in depth, with ecommerce and heatmaps; it also needs configuring to run without cookies. PageLens Analytics includes funnels, journeys, revenue by source (Stripe, Paddle), JavaScript errors and Web Vitals on every plan, with session replay on the $29 Business plan, cookieless by default.

If you want to see AI traffic

AI crawlers like GPTBot and ClaudeBot don't run JavaScript, so Plausible, Fathom and other script-only tools never see them. PageLens Analytics reads them on the server too: which pages AI crawlers read, which ones ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity open while answering someone, and the visits and revenue AI assistants send. If you only want a one-off look, your server logs or Cloudflare's AI Crawl Control will also show the crawlers.

If you want to self-host

Plausible's own Community Edition is one option. Umami is the easiest to run, and Matomo the most complete. PageLens Analytics is hosted only.

When to stay on Plausible

If the Starter or Growth plan covers what you need, Plausible is simple, trusted, open source and EU-hosted, and switching costs you your history unless the new tool imports it. PageLens Analytics can import your Plausible data; check the others before you move.
