Fathom Analytics alternatives in 2026: 7 options, with prices

What are good alternatives to Fathom Analytics?

The best Fathom alternatives in 2026 are Plausible (similar simplicity, open source), Pirsch (cheaper, 50 sites), Simple Analytics and Umami (free plans), Cloudflare Web Analytics (free, basic), Matomo (much deeper) and PageLens Analytics (funnels and AI traffic from $5). Fathom itself is still a great pick if you run many sites with real traffic.

Disclosure: we make PageLens Analytics, which is on this list. Fathom prices are from its pricing page on 27 October 2026, Plausible's from 23 October and the others from 15 October; they change, so check before you switch.

What Fathom gives you, and why people look elsewhere

Fathom starts at $15 a month for 100,000 pageviews and at least 50 sites, with events, revenue tracking, UTM reports, the API and email reports on every plan. It has no free plan, and the 7-day trial asks for a card. Its pricing page doesn't list funnels or session replay, and like every script-only tool it can't see AI crawlers, which don't run JavaScript. People usually switch because $15 is a lot for one small site, or because they need one of those features.

If $15 is too much for a small site

Pirsch starts at $6 with 50 sites. PageLens Analytics starts at $5 for 20,000 events and 3 sites. Plausible is $9 for one site. If you have one site with modest traffic, any of these costs less than Fathom.

If you want it free

Umami (cloud free tier or self-hosted), Simple Analytics (free plan, 30 days of history) and Cloudflare Web Analytics (free, traffic only) all work without cookies.

If you need funnels, journeys or session replay

Plausible has funnels and user journeys on its $19 Business plan. PageLens Analytics has funnels and journeys on every plan and session replay on Business. Matomo goes deepest, with ecommerce and heatmaps, but needs configuring to run without cookies.

If you want to see AI traffic

GPTBot, ClaudeBot and other AI crawlers don't run JavaScript, so Fathom never sees them. PageLens Analytics records them on the server: which pages AI crawlers read, which ones ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity open while answering someone, and the visits and revenue AI assistants send.

When to stay on Fathom

If you run many sites, or a few with real traffic, Fathom's 100,000 pageviews and 50 sites for $15 are hard to beat, revenue and the API are included, and it is polished and fast. Switching for a feature you won't use isn't worth losing your history.
