Cookieless analytics, no consent banner
PageLens doesn't set cookies, use local storage or fingerprint devices. You get accurate visitor numbers — including people who would click "Reject" on a banner — without asking for consent.
How visitors are counted
For each request PageLens computes a one-way hash of the IP address, user agent, your site id and a random salt. The salt changes every 24 hours and the old one is deleted, so a visitor can't be recognised from one day to the next or across websites. The IP address itself is never stored.
What is stored
The page, referrer, UTM tags, country and city, browser, operating system, device type and screen size — no names, emails or IP addresses. Session replay can mask all text and inputs.
Why it's more accurate
Consent banners typically lose a large share of visitors who decline or ignore them, and ad blockers drop requests to known analytics domains. Cookieless tracking counts everyone, and a first-party proxy recovers visits blocked by ad blockers.
Everything else still works
Goals, funnels, user journeys, retention, session replay, errors, Web Vitals, AI traffic and revenue by source — all without cookies. Signed-in users can be linked across devices with pagelens.identify(), which is your own first-party id.

Is cookieless analytics GDPR compliant?
PageLens stores no personal data and nothing on the visitor's device, which is why no consent banner is needed under GDPR and the ePrivacy rules in most cases. Check with your own legal advisor for your situation.
Can cookieless analytics count unique visitors?
Yes, per day: the daily-rotating hash identifies the same visitor within a day. Returning-visitor counts across days use identify() for signed-in users.
Will it slow down my site?
No. The script is under 4 KB gzipped, loads with defer and sends data in the background.
